AEP outreach
Teachers and educationists, are you looking for interesting arts enrichment programmes for your students? Want to introduce classical music, or spark the joy of creativity through music composition?
Our artists are registered as part of the National Arts Council-Arts Education Programme (NAC-AEP) which provides students with access to quality arts education experiences. NAC-AEP makes available more than 1,400 arts programmes by over 300 artists and arts groups.

Bards of Neverland
Learn from Bards of Neverland, a new, vibrant and energetic string ensemble formed by Singapore’s new generation of classical musicians, on how children and youths can find new ideas and inspirations via an understanding of how a classical string ensemble works. As a music group that has fun experimenting and challenging the traditions of how music is perceived, the Bards will demystify the potentially intimidating genre and spark a sense of curiosity in the students instead. In this presentation (available in both live and digital formats), they would realise that classical music can be just as much fun as pop, rock and indie and that it is another form of creative expression.
Haneri
Witness award-winning songwriter and artist Daphne Khoo (a.k.a Haneri) in action: She will deliver a performance and a live demonstration of songwriting and the power it holds to communication with the self and others. The programme will be split into two parts: The performance, followed by an interactive songwriting exercise allowing students to participate in the creation of a pop song performed on the guitar with a sing-a-long to wrap it up.
KoFlow
Get a rare, exclusive look into the cool art of DJing from DJ KoFlow, Singapore’s premier DJ and turntablist, music producer and educator, and discover why DJs are a major force of creativity and widely regarded as the future of music. Learn how creativity can be unlocked by witnessing a DJ in action as he becomes an inspiring music whiz coaxing an eye-popping range of sounds from a deck comprising a laptop, mixer and turntables. The DJ will demonstrate those nifty, exciting tricks you’ve always wanted to know, such as mixing, scratching, juggling and sampling, and explain how DJing mixes music genres and has given birth to many of today’s popular genres such as electronic dance music, trap, drum and bass, and house.
Lorong Boys
What makes classical music such a powerful force, withstanding the test of time, and is being celebrated till this day? How are its beautiful rhythms and complex arrangements achieved, giving the music the timeless power to move generations of listeners? All this and more queries you may have about the genre – let the Lorong Boys walk you through the ABCs of classical music, so you come out transformed and eternally a fan. The adventurous foursome, who have performed on the MRT and in hallowed venues around the world, will give you an easy introduction, ranging from how it’s created to all the fundamentals such as harmonic organisation and the unique characteristics of different types of music over the centuries.
Mervin Wong
Learn the ins and outs of the cutting edge art of electronic music from artist-producer Mervin Wong. In today’s digital age, discover the infinite possibilities of expression, exploration and storytelling through a performance of different elements of instruments and technologies involved in the creation and performance of electronic music. These include effects, electronic machine, instruments, the digital audio workstation, synthesisers and live sampling coming together as artist- producer Mervin Wong performs and deconstructs several of his songs. The educational institution can purchase an optional a supplementary resource pack.
The Observatory
Designed in the format of an interactive digital tutorial, students will be introduced to creative music-making with the Singaporean band, The Observatory. Through listening, students will be encouraged to open their ears and minds to sounds of the daily occurrences, developing an awareness of different sounds. Students will then be introduced to elements that make up a sound – pitch, dynamics (loudness or softness), timbre (tone colour), and duration (rhythm) and how these contribute to music-making. Through the freedom of play, students will learn how to improvise with any object of their choice and also learn how to cooperate with others musically through ensemble work.
Vandetta
Here’s an exclusive opportunity to discover the incredible benefits of singing from none other than Vanessa Fernandez aka Vandetta, Singapore’s acclaimed soulful singer-songwriter/producer, who will take aspiring singers through the basics and teach them how to harness an incredible tool of expression. Learning to sing well can build self-confidence, reduce anxiety and promote social inclusion, while song-writing contributes to critical thinking and analysis. In this talk, Vandetta will show students how to break down and analyse the parts of a song, creatively express themselves with words and singing, and impart valuable tips and hacks on improving your vocals plus breathwork to support the voice. She will also briefly explain the framework of the music industry for those interested pursuing it professionally.
